French architect Emmanuelle Moureaux – who has earned a reputation for her colourful designs – has just completed construction of a nursery school in Japan minimalist design and vibrant decoration of which strike an interesting contrast with the traditional buildings all around.

The one-of-a-kind façade instantly creates an inviting and joyful environment for the children.

Zhongshu Books – no ordinary book store

Wutopia Lab has just finished construction of the new and colourful Zhongshu Books, a book store in the city of Suzhou, China. The book store is divided into four main zones, all evocatively named. You have the Crystal Sanctuary at the entrance; the Firefly Cave; the Xanadu of Rainbows, and the Castle of Innocence, a space designed as a kids-only reading room.

Fully open-plan youth hostel opens in Beijing

Located south of Beijing train station, Together Hostel is a youth hostel with a difference: instead of separate rooms, guests are invited to stay in individual units arranged around a large open-plan space. The idea behind the project was to promote community living and encourage travellers to be more social.
