New magnetic zipper: MAGZIP
Despite the zipper fastener existing since 1914, it’s hardly changed since American engineer Gideon Sundbäck’s development.
However, this closing system, which you want to be quick, requires you to use two hands and an alignment of the teeth. Due to popular demand from the sports market, it has just been revolutionized with simplified use by engineer Scott Peters for the American sports kit supplier Under Armour. Following around thirty prototypes and a patent, the developed concept named “MagZip” consists of a magnetic head clasp designed to automatically align with the other end of the closure.
Finally you can close your jacket with one hand by holding one end of the zipper and approaching the other. The system snaps together automatically. A detail that changes everything, not only allowing us to consider different sporting situations but also to extend the Ready to Wear market!
A true innovation, to be discovered from November in the Under Armour collection this autumn.
