Designer Gemma Tickle has created a colorful window installation entitled POP for Darkroom, a fashionable accessories and home deco store located on Lamb’s Conduit Street in London.
Darkroom – Gemma Tickle
The British artist has produced large scale balloons in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Her weird and wonderful balloons take rather unusual shapes such as squares or hexagons, and have a special feature of never deflating!
When asked about her designs, the young creator says she likes “Playing with the expectation of how objects behave, you can create new versions of the everyday”. For her, “POP is a celebration of this, taking the essence of an object and reforming it to an impossibility”.
Gemma Tickle is a designer known across the advertising, editorial and events worlds. Amongst her clients are Elle, MTV, Wallpaper*, John Lewis and Nike. She’s also collaborated with numerous renowned photographers such as Carl Kleiner, Metz & Racine, Leandro Farina, Sam Hofman, John Short and Jenny Van Sommers.
True to her roots, Gemma works from her studio in Dalston, the hipsters’ empire in the northeast of the capital.
